It may seem a little unusual for a hosting company to provide information on new services that are coming to our web site, but since some of
the services we currently provide aren't listed on this web site yet, we thought we'd better keep our existing customers up-to-date about
when they can expect to see these services added to our web site.
Q4 2008
Dedicated Windows Servers
We've been providing Dedicated Windows Servers for several years now, but we're in the process of concluding a new contract for the supply of
Supermicro and HP servers.
Our new Dedicated Server range should be online by the end of October 2008/beginning of November 2008, with our entry-level server
being a quad-core Xeon server for less than £100 per month.
Q1 2009
Windows VPS
Many of you are aware that we've been working with virtualisation technology since 2007, with a lot of our servers (and a fair number of our customers'
servers) operating VMWare or Windows Virtual Server 2005 R2.
The reason we haven't brought Virtualisation into our main-stream offers has been the lack of a decent (or affordable) web management interface
that gives users individual access to some of the VPSs basic functions, and administrator tools that make automated provisioning and management
easy for us. That's all changed now and we're beta-testing a new system working with Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V
During Q1 2009 we'll hope to introduce new Windows VPS plans based on Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V.
These plans will start at around £25 per month and will come with a web interface with the following features enabled:
- Re-install VPS
- Repair VPS
- Backup/restore VPS
- Real-time bandwidth analyzer
- Web-based RDC window to manage VPS
- Reboot VPS
