Reseller VPS - More Information
What is a VPS?
A VPS (virtual private server) or VDS (virtual dedicated server) is a way of splitting up a physical
server into multiple virtual servers that each run their own operating system. Each virtual
server is a completely independent server that is isolated from other virtual servers sharing the same hardware.
A VPS bridges the gap between shared web hosting and dedicated servers, giving independence and isolation from other customers
of the VPS service in software terms, but at less cost than a physical dedicated server.
Since a VPS runs its own copy of its operating system, you have more freedom to install almost any software that
runs on the OS, and the ability to run services and software that would be impossible in a shared hosting or
traditional reseller account.

Server Hardware
We haven't skimped on hardware to bring you our Reseller VPS Plans. Here's the specification of the host server...
- Supermicro Superserver
- Intel Quad Core Xeon CPU
- 8GB DDRII ECC Memory
- 4 x SATAII Drive in RAID10
- Windows 2003 Datacenter
Also, each server has a maximum number of VPSs that we will install. The ensures that the server never becomes over-crowded
and that you can get the best performance available from the hardware you have selected.
Your own Windows® Server
Run your reseller plan from your own virtual dedicated server with Windows 2003 Server Web Edition operating system.
Unlike traditional reseller accounts where your web sites run alongside those of other companies, all your web sites run on your own
dedicated server and are completely isolated from any other reseller or user.
No Limits
We're not going to set artificial or random limits, so you're free to host as many web sites as you can fit on your hard drive.
Run 1 web site or 20,000 web sites from your Windows Reseller VPS - it's up to you. Have your own email or DB server installed, or any
other software you want. It's freedom like you've never seen in a reseller plan before.
Guaranteed Resources
With our Windows Reseller VPS you get GUARANTEED hardware resources such as memory, diskspace, and CPU share. Once these resources are allocated
to your Reseller VPS, no-one else can use them.
It means you get maximum performance from your plan, and no matter how many domains another reseller loads on their VPS, it won't
affect the performance of your VPS.
More Security
Only YOUR sites run on your operating system/virtual server, so no-one else can "accidentally" access your files. Your web sites are
isolated on your own virtual machine - just like a dedicated server strangely enough.
More Flexibility
Ever wanted to run your own MySQL database server, your own Email Server, or an application that you wrote yourself but
your hosting provider wouldn't let you install for security reasons? Now you can.
Unlike traditional reseller accounts where you could only use the resources and facilities your host provided, now you can
ask us to install extra software that YOU want - as long as you provide the appropriate licence. Better still, if the software
integrates with HELM, we'll do the integration for you.
Simple to Manage
It's as simple to manage as any other Reseller Hosting Plan.
Your reseller plan comes loaded with the HELM Control Panel - the premium Windows Hosting Control Panel. You don't need to
be an expert server administrator to use our Reseller VPS because HELM makes it as easy to use as any other Reseller Hosting plan.
If you've used HELM before, you don't need to learn anything new. If you haven't used HELM it doesn't matter because HELM is simple and
intuitive (but extremely powerful), and makes your day-to-day management tasks a breeze. We also have lots of
animated tutorials
available that show you how to carry out almost every task if you're not sure.
No Set-up Fees. No minimum contracts
That's right. Our Reseller VPS plans come with no set-up fees and no minimum contract terms.
You pay for 3 months in advance, but if you give us 7 days notice to cancel we'll refund each complete month you haven't used after
your 7-day notice period, with no questions and no hassle.
